WIM Canada

Women in Mining Canada (WIMC) is a national not-for-profit organization formed in 2009 focused on advancing the interests of women in the minerals exploration and mining sector, through our mission to Educate Elevate Empower.

In collaboration with Canadian WIMC branches we support grassroots initiatives in the realm of personal and professional development, while providing a national voice within the global minerals and mining community.

Our membership is composed of passionate men and women who actively support the minerals and mining industry and represent a variety of occupational trades and professions.

ELK VALLEY WIM

Elk Valley Women in Mining welcomes everyone affected by, or working in, mining to join us. We are always open to new participants, ideas, events and volunteers. Events are held throughout the Elk Valley and Crowsnest Pass area, ranging from social nights to skill workshops to involvement in community issues like childcare.

Elk Valley WIM got its start in 2012 and is gathering steam thanks to a growing executive group, who are always welcoming of new members.

WIM NORTHERN BC

Since its inception, Northwest Community College’s School of Exploration and Mining (SEM) has trained several women that have gone on to have successful careers in the mining industry. SEM staff understand that networking is a large part of career building and has hosted the last two Women in Mining Northern BC branch meetings at SEM’s Ganokwa training camp.
